Notes:

  • The response point of the sensor is the critical moment when the applied pressure starts to increase gradually from zero. At this juncture, the resistance of the sensor drops below 1MΩ, signifying the commencement of a detectable “response” from the sensor.
  • The ZNX-01 devices may demonstrate inconsistency between different batches. Through calibration using a program algorithm, the consistency error is effectively minimized to a range of ±15%, guaranteeing superior uniformity and accuracy across all devices.

Instruction for Use:

When using the ZNX-01 flexible pressure sensor, it is important to follow these guidelines for optimal performance:

  1. Place the pressure-sensitive zone of the sensor on a firm, flat surface. Avoid using it on curved or irregular surfaces, as this can cause the sensor to be conductive even without pressure, affecting its response.
  1. When using the sensor on rigid and hard surfaces where the contact area exceeds the sensitive area, it may result in a small and unstable pressure response. To mitigate this, we recommend attaching a round soft rubber pad to the center of the sensitive area. The pad should have a diameter slightly smaller than the sensitive area, and its surface area should be at least 60% of the sensitive area. This ensures optimal performance and stability during pressure measurements.
  1. Use double-sided tape to securely fix the sensor on the supporting surface. Ensure that the surface is clean and tidy before applying the tape. We recommend using 3M brand double-sided tape, which provides reliable adhesion.
  1. Once pressure is applied to the sensor and held, there may be a slight drift in the output resistance value over time, usually within a 5% range. To minimize this error, timing calibration is recommended. During calibration, it is important to match the waiting time after applying pressure with the waiting time in actual applications.

Since the force state of the sensor can vary in different scenarios, we advise users to arrange the sensor according to their specific application needs. Conducting drift parameter testing tailored to their use case will help optimize the sensor’s performance and ensure accurate measurements.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure optimal performance and accuracy when using the ZNX-01 flexible pressure sensor.

Flexible Film Pressure Sensor ZNX-01

The ZNX-01 flexible film pressure sensor introduces a paradigm shift in sensor technology with its unique and proprietary flexible pressure sensing approach. With independent intellectual property rights, this sensor utilizes state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques to print flexible nano-functional materials on lightweight and flexible substrates, resulting in a sensor that exhibits exceptional adhesion, bending resistance, and high sensitivity.

By leveraging its flexible and light construction, the ZNX-01 sensor achieves high-sensitivity detection of plantar pressure distribution. This means that it can accurately capture the subtle variations in pressure exerted on different areas of the foot during standing and walking. The sensor’s ability to precisely measure plantar pressure provides valuable insights into foot biomechanics and aids in diagnosing issues related to foot health and gait analysis.

Functioning as a resistive sensor, the ZNX-01 operates based on the principle that the output resistance decreases as pressure is applied to its surface. This pressure-resistance relationship allows for the translation of physical pressure into measurable resistance values. By establishing a specific pressure-resistance correlation, the ZNX-01 sensor enables accurate and reliable measurement of the pressure exerted on the foot.

Its unique combination of flexibility, sensitivity, and accurate measurement capabilities empowers a wide range of applications in fields such as sports medicine, biomechanics research, orthopedics, and footwear design, ultimately contributing to better foot health and enhanced human performance.

TheZNX-01 circuit employs the principle of resistance voltage division to measure the sensor’s resistance. By measuring the Vout voltage value and the voltage divider resistance value, the resistance value of the sensor’s sensitive point after the application of force can be calculated. Subsequently, the pressure value can be determined by referring to the pressure-resistance curve.

Notably, if the Vout signal is connected to the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) port of a microcontroller unit (MCU), the collected analog-to-digital (AD) value can be correlated with the pressure value through a calibration algorithm. This eliminates the need for manual calculations of voltage values or resistance values, streamlining the process.

Should there be specific requirements regarding the output impedance of the signal, an operational amplifier circuit can be incorporated at the backend of the Vout signal, ensuring optimal signal quality and impedance matching.
